The Rossport Islands Kayak Symposium features outstanding instruction from some of the finest sea kayak coaches and guides in the Lake Superior area. Our instructors are certified by Paddling Canada, the American Canoe Association and the British Canoe Union and have taught courses all around the world.

Over the past 10 years, Conor Mihell has amassed over 500 trip days in the
wilderness reaches of northern Ontario’s Great Lakes region and the open
coast of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. He works as a subcontractor for Naturally Superior Adventures. Conor is a high-ranking Paddle
Canada sea kayak instructor and a fan of Greenland Style paddling. |

Darryl Makin currently works as a sessional lecturer, teaching outdoor leadership based courses
in the Department of Outdoor Recreation, Parks and Tourism at Lakehead
University. He is especially passionate about any opportunities to spend time along the
north shore of Lake Superior. |

Gail Green is co-founder and director of Living Adventure Inc., located in Bayfield, WI on the south shore of Lake superior. The vision and creation of Living Adventure, an outdoor adventure based company, is the capstone of her professional careers in both outdoor recreation and art. An avid kayaker, Gail is an Instructor Trainer Educator in the ACA and enjoys leadership and skills mentoring for upcoming sea kayaking coaches. |

Tammy Story retired from a
long career as a speech pathologist specializing in rehabilitation for
traumatically brain injured individuals and dove straight into kayaking. She is a PC Level 1 instructor with her WAFA
certification. She resides on the shore of Lake Superior and paddles both Euro and Greenland style boats. |
