  • Experienced & quality instructors from around the area and beyond.
  • Live musical entertainment featuring the Swamp, Stomp Country sounds of The Wild Turkeys.
  • Informative slide-show presentation Friday evening.
  • Vendors of quality paddling and camping gear bring your their wares to test and purchase.
The Rossport Islands Symposium takes place at the quaint village of Rossport, 200 kilometres east of Thunder Bay and just off the Trans Canada Highway. The village features renowned accommodations and great camping at Rainbow Falls Provincial Park. But Rossport's biggest highlight is that it is located on the doorstep of Lake Superior and an archipelago of islands that offer scenic paddling for sea kayakers of all levels.

Rossport is a gateway to the newly created Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area, a 10,000-square-kilometre reserve sprawling from the Sibley Peninsula to east of Terrace Bay. The wilderness islands, undeveloped mainland and open water is home to more than 20 species of rare or endangered wildlife, including woodland caribou, peregrine falcon and dozens of species of unique arctic plants. The options for multi-day sea kayaking are nearly endless. Simply put, the area is a sea kayaker's dream come true.
